A Walk in the Park

A Walk in the Park explores the quiet mechanics behind urban events; the moments of assembly, anticipation, and eventual dismantling that often go unnoticed. By focusing on the emotional and physical labour surrounding these public spectacles, the work draws attention to what is typically hidden from view.

At its core, the installation follows six individuals, each moving through a different phase of their lived experience. Their interactions with the space, and with time, reveal emotions that range from hope and uncertainty to fatigue and quiet resilience. These characters serve as entry points into broader questions about how we perform, witness and endure within the city.

Rather than focusing solely on the event as the climax, A Walk in the Park lingers in the in-between: the setup, the waiting, the fading away. It offers a meditation on impermanence and reflects upon how public life is built on intimate effort, presenting passing moments that leave lasting imprints on both the individual and the collective psyche.
